What it does
OpenShot is a desktop video editor for beginners and hobbyists. You drag clips onto a timeline with unlimited tracks, trim and cut them, add transitions, titles, music and effects such as chroma key (green screen), change speed, and animate with keyframes. It reads and exports many video, audio and image formats. Windows, macOS and Linux have ready installers; on Windows the download is around 216 MB and includes everything needed. It is free under the GPL license.

What Radar could not check
- How smoothly it plays back and exports high-resolution or long videos on an average computer.
- Whether the experimental hardware encoding and decoding work with your graphics card.
- How stable the new 4.0 version is for larger projects.
