Free alternatives to Microsoft PowerPoint
4 free programs that can replace Microsoft PowerPoint, each pairing checked by Radar's AI reviewer or by Radar.
Microsoft PowerPoint is the presentation program from Microsoft, used by students, teachers, sales teams and anyone who has to build slides for a meeting or a class. It is sold on its own and as part of the Microsoft 365 subscription, and many workplaces simply expect decks to arrive as PowerPoint files.
Before switching, open a few of your real presentations in the new program and look closely. Fonts, spacing, animations, transitions and embedded video or audio are the parts most likely to shift when a .pptx file is opened somewhere else. If you rely on templates, macros, speaker notes or add-ins, find out what replaces them. Think about who you share files with: if colleagues or clients edit your slides in PowerPoint, test a full round trip and keep a PDF copy of the final version. Give yourself time to learn a different arrangement of menus, and export your own templates and images before you uninstall anything.
