Clash Verge Rev

What it does
Clash Verge Rev is a desktop window for the mihomo (Clash.Meta) proxy engine. You paste in a configuration or subscription link from a proxy provider, or your own server, and the app decides by rule which sites and apps go through which server and which go out normally. It shows the servers, their speed and the live traffic, and can take over the whole connection in TUN mode. It does not come with any servers of its own, so it does nothing until you add a subscription you obtained elsewhere. The main README is in Chinese, with other languages in the docs folder.

Release 2.5.8 has ready installers for every system (Windows .exe including a 239 MB build with the WebView2 runtime bundled, macOS .dmg for Intel and Apple chips, and .deb and .rpm packages for Linux), so installing is a double-click — but the window is empty until you add a configuration or subscription link from a proxy provider, and switching on the system proxy or TUN mode asks for administrator rights.

Risk signals (7)
- Attentionproxy tools restricted in some countries
This is a client for the Clash/mihomo proxy engine (README: "内置 Clash.Meta(mihomo) 内核"), with system-proxy and TUN modes that send your traffic through servers abroad. Running an unapproved proxy or VPN is restricted or forbidden in several countries (among them China, Russia, Iran, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates), and many workplaces and schools forbid it on their networks. The README's own promotion advertises nodes "自动化运维对抗各类封锁" — kept running against blocking.
AI review
- Attentionbuilt in streaming unlock check
Cargo.toml lists a workspace crate `crates/clash-verge-media-unlock`, for checking which streaming services a proxy server gives access to. Watching a streaming service through a proxy to get around its country restrictions goes against the terms of service of providers such as Netflix and Disney+, and can get an account blocked.
AI review
- Attentioninstalls privileged network service
The feature list includes "系统代理和守卫、TUN(虚拟网卡) 模式" — system proxy with a guard, and a TUN virtual network card — and the development notes describe installing and updating a background "service", with an alternative "unprivileged Sidecar workflow". In TUN mode a background component with administrator rights handles every connection your computer makes.
AI review
- Infopaid promotions with referral links
The README has a "Promotion" section selling a proxy subscription through a referral link ("使用本链接注册即送 3 天免费试用", cruise.54678999.xyz/#/register?code=58q5UJZc) and an AI support product. Those are advertisements, not part of the program.
AI review
- Infoconfig scripts and css injection
The features list "配置文件管理和增强(Merge 和 Script)" and "CSS Injection". A configuration file you import from someone else can therefore carry a script and change what the app does, so where the subscription link comes from matters.
AI review
- Infodependency tracks a moving branch
package.json pulls `"tauri-plugin-mihomo-api": "github:clash-verge-rev/tauri-plugin-mihomo#main"` straight from a branch rather than a fixed version, and Cargo.toml patches the `muda` crate to a personal fork (github.com/wonfen/muda.git). Two builds of the same version can therefore differ.
AI review
- Inforolling build channel
The README offers an "AutoBuild" channel described as "滚动更新版,适合测试反馈,可能存在缺陷" — rolling, for testers, may contain defects — next to the stable release. The Alpha channel is marked 废弃 (abandoned).

What Radar could not check
- Whether the app really keeps everything local, as the README claims; Radar did not watch its network traffic
- Who runs the proxy servers you connect to and what they log — that is the provider's business, not this app's
- Whether a configuration or subscription file from a provider changes rules or runs scripts you did not expect
- Whether TUN mode works with your antivirus, firewall or company network
- Real disk use, which the checks estimate between 239 MB and 716 MB depending on the installer
