MOSS-Image
OpenMOSS/MOSS-ImageReviewed by AI
What it does
MOSS-Image is an open image generator you run yourself. You write a description and it makes a picture, and it is built to write clear text inside the image and to place elements where you ask using a JSON layout. There is a simple web screen (Gradio) that opens in your browser. To use it you install Python, download the project and let it download the model files (several gigabytes), and you need a good graphics card. It also works inside ComfyUI.
How easy it is to install
D · terminal, several tools or a specific graphics card · Windows
There is no installer: you clone the repository, create a Python environment, install the dependencies and run commands, and you need a graphics card with enough memory for a 5B model.
Coming soon: install in 1 click with the RepoPicks app.

Risk signals (3)
- Attentionruns code downloaded from model host
README.md Python example: DiffusionPipeline.from_pretrained("OpenMOSS-Team/MOSS-Image-Base", custom_pipeline="pipeline_moss_image", trust_remote_code=True) — this runs Python code downloaded from Hugging Face on your machine.

- Infolarge model download
README.md describes a 5B-parameter model whose weights are downloaded separately from Hugging Face or ModelScope; the repository itself contains no weights.

What Radar could not check
- Whether the Gradio app and the install steps work on Windows, since the README shows Linux/macOS commands only
- How much graphics memory is really needed for the recommended 1456x1456 images
- Real disk use after the model weights are downloaded
- What the remote pipeline code downloaded with trust_remote_code does
- The price of the MOSI API platform mentioned in the README
