Clean Your TV

What it does
You install this app on an Android phone (Android 9 or newer) on the same Wi-Fi as the TV, and it connects to the TV over network debugging. It reads the TV, shows a plan of what it would switch off — adverts, tracking, preinstalled apps, brand extras — and after you agree it disables them for the main user and can put the Clean Your TV home screen in place. Nothing is uninstalled, and a restore point can put things back. It uses community lists covering 173 TV models from 47 brands, and it is a community app built on Gathin23/cleanyourtv.
How easy it is to install
B · installer plus one simple step
Android is the only system it runs on, and there it is a B: the release page has a ready APK you install by hand on the phone, and the one extra step is switching on network debugging on the TV with the remote and allowing the phone. Some sets only offer wireless debugging with a pairing code, and those need a computer once for three commands. Computers are not a target of this app at all.

- Attentionopens tv network debugging
README, Supported TVs: "the TV needs ADB over the network (port 5555)". While it is on, anyone on the same Wi-Fi can send commands to the TV. The README says debugging "is switched off again at the end unless you keep it on".

- Infoinstalled outside the app store
The README's only install route is "Download the APK" from GitHub releases, or Obtainium. Android asks you to allow installs from an unknown source, and there is no store review. Every release is signed by one key, certificate SHA-256 eaf7af3867bb29ff4bb038854842c93f42ffe4198a087e611cb18f925201cd65.

- Infochanges tv system software
The app disables preinstalled TV apps for the main user and can replace the home screen launcher; README: "accessibility, casting, voice and updates go off only if you choose", and on some models it does "clean-up only" because switching the home screen "would cost casting".

What Radar could not check
- Whether it recognises and cleans your exact TV model, or falls back to the careful brand list
- Whether undo really brings every app and the original home screen back
- Whether network debugging on the TV is actually closed again when it finishes
- Whether the published APK matches the public source, as the reproducible-build claim says
- Whether the TV keeps working normally after its own next system update
